From 1 July 2026, thousands of Australian accounting firms, law practices, conveyancers, real estate agencies, and dealers in precious metals and stones will become regulated entities under Australia's AML/CTF framework for the first time. AUSTRAC calls them Tranche 2. Most of them have never had to think about anti-money laundering compliance before.

The question we kept hearing from these firms was the same: where do we start?

Today, we have an answer.

Introducing the LAB Group AML/CTF Program Wizard

The AML/CTF Program Wizard is a free, guided tool built specifically for Tranche 2 entities. In five to ten minutes, it walks you through the key questions AUSTRAC requires you to consider, then generates a tailored draft program outline covering your obligations, required policies, risk assessment, and the forms you need to complete.

No prior compliance knowledge required. No consultant needed to get started.

What the Wizard Covers

The wizard is structured around the five regulated sectors: accounting practices, legal profession, conveyancing, real estate agencies, and dealers in precious metals, stones, and products.

Within your sector, it steps you through four key areas.

Your designated services. The wizard identifies which of your services are regulated under the new rules, based on your practice type and what you actually do for clients.

Your client and delivery risk profile. It asks targeted questions about your client base, delivery channels, geographic exposure, and risk appetite, and uses those answers to calculate your inherent risk rating.

Your program requirements. Based on your profile, it generates a checklist of required program components, including the AUSTRAC forms and policies specific to your sector and risk level.

Your next steps. The wizard surfaces the key deadlines you need to hit: enrolment opens 31 March 2026, enrolment closes 29 July 2026, and your program must be in place before you can continue providing designated services from 1 July 2026.

At the end, you can save or print your tailored draft program outline as a PDF, complete with direct links to the AUSTRAC forms and document library.

Built for Practitioners, Not Compliance Teams

Most compliance tooling is built for regulated financial institutions with dedicated compliance functions. Tranche 2 entities are different. A principal at a mid-size accounting firm should not need to read 200 pages of AUSTRAC guidance to understand their obligations.

The wizard translates the regulatory framework into plain language, asks only the questions that matter for your practice, and gives you a clear, actionable output you can hand to a lawyer, consultant, or your own team to build on and finalise.

It is not a substitute for professional advice on your specific circumstances, but it gives you a solid, informed draft starting point.

Already Enrolled with AUSTRAC? The Wizard Still Helps.

Even if you have started your enrolment or engaged an external consultant, the wizard is useful as a structured self-assessment. Run through it to check your risk profile, verify you have identified all required forms, and confirm your program covers the components AUSTRAC will expect to see.

What if Your Practice Is Complex?

For some practices, particularly those with higher-risk client profiles, offshore operations, or complex service structures, a starter kit approach may not be sufficient. The wizard will flag this clearly and under our LAB Service offering, we can connect you with specialist advisor partners who can build and maintain your program for you.

Try It Now

The wizard is free, requires no account, and takes less than ten minutes.
